Head measurement guide
How to Measure Your Head for a Wig
Accurate head measurements are essential for ensuring a comfortable and natural fit for your wig. Follow these simple steps using a measuring tape and a few minutes of your time.
1. Head Circumference
- Place the measuring tape at your natural hairline on your forehead.
- Wrap the tape around your head, passing over the tops of your ears and down to the nape of your neck, then back to the forehead.
- Keep the tape snug but not tight.
- Record the measurement (e.g., 55 cm or 21.5 inches).
2. Front to Nape
- Place one end of the measuring tape at your natural hairline at the center of your forehead.
- Extend the tape over the crown of your head to the nape of your neck where your hairline ends.
- Record the measurement (e.g., 33 cm or 13 inches).
3. Ear to Ear Over Top
- Start at the top of one ear.
- Extend the measuring tape across the top of your head to the top of the opposite ear.
- Follow the natural contour of your head.
- Record the measurement (e.g., 30 cm or 12 inches).
4. Ear to Ear Across Forehead
- Begin at the top of one ear.
- Extend the tape across your forehead to the top of the opposite ear.
- Keep the tape straight and snug.
- Record the measurement (e.g., 28 cm or 11 inches).
5. Nape of Neck
- Measure the width of the nape of your neck, from the hairline at one side to the hairline at the other side.
- Record the measurement (e.g., 10 cm or 4 inches).
6. Temple to Temple Around Back
- Start at one temple and run the measuring tape around the back of your head to the opposite temple.
- Record the measurement (e.g., 36 cm or 14 inches).
Once you've taken these measurements, compare them to the wig size chart (e.g., petite, average, or large) to find the best fit for you. While the average size fits most people, measuring ensures a perfectly tailored look and feel. 😊
